Question Door seals and window pillar seals

The door seals on my 86 560 sl are in need of replacement (cracked and torn). Has anyone had experience changing these as well as the pillar seals? Is it any easy job to do? What about OEM vs. aftermarket parts? Thanks for any help...
Larry

My '80 450sl needed all the weatherstrips when I bought it a year and a half ago. I bought them from a place in California. The after market ones were half the price as the OEM ones and every bit as good, as far as I can tell. I didn't feel that I was capable of removing the door panels and pillars so I took it to an auto upholstry shop. They also replaced my rag top. The seals for the trunk and hard top I did myself. Best of luck. BOB

Your original seals have lasted 17 years now. Is it really worth a few dollars to find out if aftermarket ones will last as long?

I've looked at both jobs, but haven't done either yet. The door seals should be no problem. The pillar seals are a bit more complicated and that's probably an understatement.
