One Problem, or two??
Noticed while coming home Saturday night that the headlights would occasionally dim slightly and then come back to normal intensity. Suspect this to be the voltage regulator. Thoughts?
Also, when I hit the brakes at times and feel the ABS pulsations the sound from the stereo speakers will cease. When this happens, the power to the stereo unit remains on (lights lit). Wondering if the two problems might be related or not. (Don't believe this is a short in the speaker system as the only time the speakers cut out is when I can feel the ABS.) Appreciate any insights folks are willing to share.

A similar incident occurred a couple of years ago with my W124. Not sure why the speakers are coupled in the mix, but they would react in a similar manner. Must have something to do with the velocity-sensitive level matching circuit in the radio?
But the ABS light would come on, even though there was no ABS-related failure, or no real demand of the ABS at the time. This was symptomatic of an impending voltage regulator failure. In my case, the alternator was overcharging! Anyway, your problems sound interrelated. Have your charging system checked out.

G-Benz,
Appreciate the response. FYI, my ABS light has come on in the past, but it hasn't recently. This was even after replacing the OVP after I picked the car up. As you suggest, will get this checked out. Thanks again,
