Looking for a NICE Shift Knob for my 1991 300SL M-Benz

i've got a 1991 300SL and would like to upgrade the Leather Shift Knob to make it look nicer. does anyone out here know a place where i can get it from. i'm looking for a Burlwood Shift Knob or anything as long as it's nice looking. and also, does that Leather Shift Knob pretty easy to take off or an expert needs to do it? any information provided will be greatly appreciated. thanks! zee

There is a burlwood knob on e-bay. Go to autos and select Mercedes and put slc in the model space.

Suginami, is that charcoal or black leather? Just wondering as I have a biscuit/black interior too and just can't make my mind up which leather to choose.

Also, Performance Products show several different shades of wood - does the year of the SL specify the shade, or are SLs common in some way?

Does anyone know of a UK retailer for the same product too?

Learoy,

The leather is black.

As far as different shades of wood - the shift knobs are offered only in burlwood or zebrano, as far as I know. I don't think they can be ordered in different shades of darkness or lightness.

I've seen these knobs in both burlwood and zebrano in many different Mercedes, and the wood always matched...

Thanks Paul

Thinking about it further, I think black would match better than charcoal considering the amount of black dash and the black edging around the shift lever itself.

I can't find a UK distrib so looks like it's time to email PP.

Cheers
Lea
