soggy floorboard 560sl
It has been a wierd spring..over 12inches above the normal rainfall..
Last week I drove the 560sl. It rained and rained. After a few days of rain I noticed that my drivers side floorboard was soaked. I did have my soft top on the car. It is new with new seals, however while driving I noticed a periodic drop of water come in from the window..but only when driving. Is there a way for this water to be entering from beneath the car?

wet floor
I noticed the same on drivers side (450sl 1977) I found that the metal floor panel had corroded and a hole about 3x4 inches rotted out. (This can be caused by lifting jack pads braking sealant and not noticed after some years) I patched hole with galvanized sheet steel with pop rivets. Sprayed undercoat sealant aterwards, Sem like it did the job. Windsheild leakage can be easily fixed with clear window sealant in tube Hope this helpos. Abe G

Check for clogged body drains. Water may be overflowing from blocked drains into the firewall area.
