Where do I find a spoiler for 129

Hi All,

I am looking to find a rear spoiler with integral stop light for my 129 500SL.

AMG made one in the early days I am told. Does anyone know of an online suppleir??

The AMG ducktail spoiler is still available from the dealer. I have the part number and UK price list at home. It was expensive.

I see them for sale on e-bay all the time. They come unpainted or they will paint to you code and ship. Much less $ than dealer, but you have to install it yourself. Search mercedes,parts and acc, then spoiler or wing. Tod

I've seen one unit on a couple of cars on the road and one at a non-mb dealership, but was unable to learn the manufacturer. The Lorinser model is close, but appears to be actually a "K" type in that the wing is wider than the stands. (I don't want stands.)

There is a company selling them on E-bay that makes a low cost unit for the 129, but that one won't do either. It partly overlaps the fenders and is a little too tall and is rounded rather than parallel to the back of the deck lid.

The MB dealers list two AMG models, but I cannot get pictures of both. I've seen photos of the one described above with the taillight, but not the other. It is less expensive so perhaps it is the right one, but no way to know for sure. My dealer won't order unless I pay for it and I don't want to do that until I see a photo.
I've been looking for quite some time with no luck. I know someone makes it, but cannot figure out who. Does anyone else have any suggestions?

I don't like the curved shape on that either. The one I want is made by AMG for around $500. I'll post a photo when I get it.

My July 1998 AMG Accessories catalogue lists (but does not picture) the following spoilers, part numbers and prices (all GB sterling):

1. For cars without third brakelight: B6 602 0692, GBP402.53 (about $550)

2. For cars with third brakelight: B6 602 0693, GBP634.43 (about $800)

3. new 'wing'-style one piece spoiler: B6 602 0694, GBP484.44 9about $625)

I think the first two are the classic AMG ducktail spoilers; the third item is like that posted by slsmag. Why not go down the dealer and see what they can do?

Thanks, I think that's the one. I can get for about 525 US less a discount for MB club members at a local SoCal dealer. They can't come up with a photo, either. I'll just have to order it and refuse it if it's not what I want. Oddly MB USA in New Jersey doesn't have photos, either. They sent me a poor photocopy of what must me the same catalog sheet that you have. It amazes me how hard it is to buy one of these.

Lorinser makes one that is close, too. I think I prefer the AMG, but would like to see the Lorinser first. The photo of the one on the black car looks a lot like the Lorinser.
