Please help me! I have wet feet!
I have a 1989 560 SL. When I started using the A/C again a few weeks ago, I started getting large amounts of water dripping on mine and my passenger's feet. It doesn't drip until I turn. When I turn left the water seems to go to the right side and drip on my passenger's feet. When I turn right, it drips on mine. Sometimes, it is more of a stream than a drip. It even comes close to hitting the fusebox. My floormats are always wet now. This only happens when the A/C has been on for a few minutes. I drove the car all last summer with the A/C on and it never happened then. The only other difference from last year is that now the belt sometimes squeals for a few seconds when the compressor is engaged. I don't think this would make a difference though. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thank you, Pete Powers Indianapolis |

There is a hose that runs from the underdash area through the floor that drains condensate resulting from A/C operation. If the hose is blocked or disconnected, the water finds an alternate path for drainage, such as over your Johnston Murphy's.
Find the hose, verify that it is still connected. If so, you may have to remove it to clean it out, or have it routed out from underneath the car. |

I had the same problem with my 79 Honda when it was new. A spide had built a nest in the drain hose!! That was enough to block the water from going out. Good luck.
