Hardtop seals...
Should the hardtop seal/gasket/rubber be treated with anything before the top is reinstalled? I am specifically looking at the seal that meets the body and at the top of the windshield.

To keep rubber seals supple and in good condition it's worth trying 'Gummi Pflege'. This is a silicone based grease that is sold in tubes by both Mercedes and BMW dealers. The BMW part number is BM82.14.407.015. I don't know the M-B part number. I treated all the rubbers on my recently acquired 380SL and it makes a big difference. Costs about £5 ($8) from BMW.
