Replaced R-134 with Duracool...

About a year ago, I changed my AC system over to R-134 in my 77-450 SL. However, I could never get the temp down below 56-58 degrees. After reading a lot of info on alternate coolants, I decided to give Duracool a try. Boy does this stuff work!!! Yesterday, I drained the 134 out, added 2 cans of Duracool (running about 30 lbs pressure) and I now have a 38-40 degree reading at the vents! Give this stuff a try if you're not happy with the 134!!!
Mike
PS..I bought this on line for $7 a can from a nice gentleman in Kentucky.

Craig, I heard about it from a couple of friends on mine. I just went on the web and did a search for "Duracool". Called the number in Kentucky and talked to a very nice gentleman who walked me all the way through it. It was very easy and made a world of difference!

I just changed the refrigerant in my 1990 560SEL to Duracool from R134a and it's marginally better.

Got it here:

The 380SLC will be next once I have spent six months replacing a blown evaporator....
