450SL Trunk Emblem

I saw a message on another SL site that stated that the "450SL" trunk emblem is no longer available from Mercedes Benz. There was speculation that the die broke.
I don't know if this message was rumor or fact. In any event, this emblem is being offered on Ebay, item #2427832601. I just bought one on Ebay from the same seller as the current posting (they must have stock-piled some), and it is a genuine Mercedes part for those who are interested.
Maybe the person who originally posted this message on that other SL website is the same person who's selling them on Ebay????? I don't know!!!!!

That item would be too easy to replicate. I could cast very easily in my home shop.

It's hard to believe that they stopped producing them....but there has to be alot of used ones out there.
