93 500SL Power Steering Fluid Resevoir
 

Can anyone tell me where to put power steering fluid in the 1993 500SL, and what kind of fluid to use?

The reservoir is located on the top front of the engine block, driver side. It has a white dot on the handscrew off cap. The reservoir is maybe four inches across the top. When unscrewed you will find a plastic shaft cover with measuring guides indicating full-low.
The reservoir is not identified in the owners manual, but the power steering pump is, and it is located on the inboard side of the pump. (When you open the hood just look down, toward the driverside front top corner of the block)
As for what to use, Mercedes brand power steering fluid is recomended. Dextron is generally used. I have used an inexpensive brand from Walmart with a sealer, that has curbed a seeping seal.
