SLK Styling

As a new owner of an SLK, I was wondering who was responsible for the lovely lines of it. The curve from the front fender down to the wheel flare is absolutely gorgeous! Any idea who did it?
When did they start production. All I know is mine is a 1997. Are they still making that body style?

Best to all!

Julian Winston

The next generation SLK is being introduced in Germany on Saturday. There it will come as a 200 compressor, a 3.5 and a 55 AMG. I would guess that it will come to the states in the fall. I have not searched but I understand there are pictures on the internet.

I agree that the R170 SLK is a very fine piece of design. I particularly like the way the shut lines and window lines meet at the lower corner of the rear screen. My preference is for the pre-facelift car, which in my view is a clean and timeless piece of car design. The new one is not to my tastes.
