Job 91-055 - Remove seat cushion?

I want to get at the valve assembly of my orthopedic seat. There is a leak, and I want to see whether it is the valve iteslf or one of the little hoses that is punctured or loose. I am able to reach between the seat frame and the valve, and may be able to push the valve up out of the frame to examine it. I note that the official work instructions on this (80-019) say that you really need to do job 91-055 (Remove seat cushion) first. So I have two questions:

(1) Do I really need to remove the seat cushion to be able to inspect the valve, since the work instructions seem to say that you just push up the valve in any case? and

(2) if it is necessary to remove the cushion to inspect the valve or to avoid breaking something, does anyone have the details of job 91-055, because I sure can't see how to do it?

Job 91-055

It should take you just a couple of minutes to have both cushions removed. First remove the bottom. It is secured with two large phillips screws at the lower left and right front of the seat. Remove these and the cushion pops out by jerking upward at the front of the cushion.

To remove the back cushion, unscrew the two torx-head screws on the lower back side of the seat. This allows the bottom of the cushion to pull away from the seat frame and slide out.

Thanks

Well, that was easy. One of the six plastic air connectors is broken, explaining the leak. Looks like I have to replace the valve assembly.

Thanks,

Momo
