Early 90s SL with Manual Transmission
I own a 1989 560 SL. I am looking for an early 90s SL with manual transmission. I don't know what years a manual was available. I know it was only available (standard) on the 300SLs and possibly some 320s. Can someone give me the years that manual transmissions were available? I would like to purchase one.
Thanks, Bob |

Manual transmission was available on all 300SLs but no U.S. 320s. I know of a 300SL in Las Vegas with manual tranny for sale which is in fairly good condition. Email me if interested.

"all 300SLs" means 1990 to 1993 but the numbers declined as time went on - you're more likely to find a 90 or 91. Have you driven one? I think it not a very elegant car - long throw, dogleg shift pattern, heavy clutch, short gearing - one of the alltime great disappointments from Mercedes. Fun to drive under only very limited circumstances, very much a chore in city driving.
