129 Chassis Repair Manuals Available

I thought I would share this e-mail I recieved today.

Dear Mercedes-Benz Owner,

recently you inquired about service information for your Mercedes-Benz
vehicle, chassis 129.
We are proud to announce that the Model 129 Classic-Car DVD-Rom is now
available for purchase.
You can order the item by calling the Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance
Center at 1-800-FOR-MERCedes.
The part number is P-2700-129-04 and our retail price is US $149.00.
Please be advised that this is a DVD-Rom as the amount of data collected
for your model exceeded the space on a CD-ROM.
Your PC must be equipped with a DVD-Rom drive to access the information.

Regards,

The STAR TekInfo Team

Thanks Dennis for the information. I will call them tomorrow and find out what years this covers, and a list of contents.

I just ordered the DVD-ROM. It is an "official" MB service manual. I was told that is just came out last week.

I ordered it today too, $ 165 total.

Doesn't make sense with StarTek at 85 bucks a day.

Sure hopes it's got all the info.

Just PO'd went and put together an old PC for the garage to view this when it came out. But it's only got a CD drive, well I guess I have to upgrade to a DVD.

With shipping, mine also came to about $165. It is on a DVD, instead of a CD, because it covers many cars, and years............I wish they had one for each model........oh well!!!!!!!!!!! I was glad that it even came out, especially since I just bought this car, not even two weeks ago. Lucky me!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Henry, it probably was 85 / week. Or my tired old eyes.

I believe it it just the 129 series, but they had too much for a CD, so I have to get a DVD drive

Since you don't want to take my word for it, you'll see for yourself soon enough that the DVD covers all R129 and W140 models.

Is this disk the WIS (Workshop Information System) disk or some other MB disk?

Does it cover as much as the WIS? Does it reference part numbers like the EPC disk (Electronic Parts Catalogue)?

Sounds interesting though!?!
