Question Late SL Door Mirrors

I have a pair of 1998 SL door mirrors that I would like to install in my early '90 SL (129). Has anyone done this work??? Are wiring colors the same?? Do the interior trim panels need changeout?? Do the bolting arrangements line-up??

I would also like to install a newer interior rear view mirror with auto-dimming. Again is the wiring about the same and does someone have any tips to success??

Thanks in advance,
Hz

That is something I am wanting to do as well. I think the wiring is pretty much the same. The German roadster club has diagrams and schematics for doing this job. Here is a link to their site, go under tips and modifications, then mirror replacement. It is in German, but the pictures will give you enough guidance to give you confidence that it could be done. Good luck!

By the way, if you visit the German website mentioned, just right click and highlight "Translate into English" and you should get a rough equivalent of what is being relayed on the topic.
