Scanning Tools

Friends of the Forum,
I want to buy an ODB II scan tool for my 96 SL320, I have been having trouble with the CE light, the dealer charges me $130 bucks each time they check it for me. Does anyone know what kind of scanner I should get and what the connector type is? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks and have a great day!
Regards,
Brian

This one was recommended elsewhere on the forum. I wanted a toy for my laptop and got one. It seems to work great:

Cost is cheap too. Less than $100.

The connector is standard for all vehicles, but the communication protocol is not. Mercedes uses "ISO".
