Stuck Odometer

I have a US spec '82 380SL with a stuck Odometer. my mechanic says the tiny sprocket on the gear is worn down, I can't replace it with a European one ( different number of gears? ) any suggestions of companies who do repairs/rebuilds? I have a buddy flying back to Houston at the weekend so any companies suggestions in Texas appreciated

Have him look for a VDO shop, they should have the part your looking for.

You might keep an eye on ebay. There always seems to be a lot of them there.
