Price for a 1998-SLK230

HI All

I hope this is the right tread for this subject.
What could I expect to pay at a MB dealership for a 98-SLK230
with 56k on the clock one owner, all service records up to date.
thanks. Happy drivving.

In the UK such a vehicle would be offered at about GBP16-18k depending on colour and whether it had leather and air con (these were optional here and are regarded as essential options in the market place). Silver is the most desireable colour, probably followed by black. The others lag way behind. These are good cars, very well built, and showing the traditional Mercedes virtues.

JJ
Thanks. The MB dealer here in Pa. is asking $24.995.00
The car is loaded and is the right color combo silver/black. However I think the price is a little high. I may offer them 18k and roll the dice. I am not in a rush.
JJ, your SL is awesome! I believe you have the same color combo as my E320Cabriolet. Champagne silver/Parchment?
I love that color combo. Thanks for all the great pic's of your vacation and your car. Happy driving.

A non MB dealer in Baton Rouge is offering a 99SLK with 35k in Silver for $24,995. He has had it for qutite a while (some months) so he maybe negotiable.

For a 98 with 56K, I wouldn't pay anymore than $20k.

Check out www.importone.com to see the SLK on page 15 I think.

Check out this website first before considering the car.

Ever since MB purchased Chrysler in '98 they have been having problems like crazy with this model.

Just my opinion.

My family has owned two, doing a total of 100k miles. The present car is an early 2000MY SLK230k with 50k miles on it. It would be fair to say this has been the most reliable car we have ever owned. I am not aware of any bad press about these cars. Informed opinion seems to be that they are exceptionally well-designed and built, displaying all of the traditional Mercedes virtues of solidity, quality and longevity. The body shell is also significantly more rigid than the R129, although I think the overall driving experience of the R129 suits me better.
