cabriolet impregnating spray

Fellow SL Owners!
I have been surfing the german roadster club lately and found a great way to make your top like new! Mercedes Benz makes a cabriolet impregnating spray. Once you clean your top up really well, make sure it is dry, tape off the windows and body panels (I used old sheets under the canvas with towels) you just spray this stuff on the canvas. It makes it like new and the canvas repels water better than any scotchgaurd will. My black top looks like new and the water just runs off! Good luck! Happy Benzing!
Regards,
Brian

cabriolet impregnating spray...

a guy with an embarrasing urologic problem in a convertible?

All seriousness aside , a good thing to know (started to type "a good tip" and realized I'd better rephrase).

I did this with Porsche chemicals (a cleaner and then a sprayon repellant made by them), and I'm amazed at what a difference this made.

I used some soft top cleaner my brother gave me and the 303 Fabric protectant and the top is gorgeous.

BUT MASK MASK MASK

If you get the 303 on the paint, even the windshield you've got a tough job removing it. I clayed it, which meant rewaxing.

Don't chance it MASK, cover, and then mask again.

The results are WELL worth it, the top looks like brand new and repels water unbelievably.
