1983 500SL idle control module

I need to replace my idle control module. My mechanic couldn't locate a new one for me. He thinks if I get one I can easily install it myself in about 1/2 hour. Right now the car idles too high.

Can anyone tell me where I can buy one of these idle control units?

Then you will need this one which also covers yours.

Your first picture looks exactly like the actual part. Same size and plug configuration - 6 pins and then 4 pins in a row. The second picture has a different pin configuration, still 6 and 4 but the 4 ar ein a different arrangement. Will it matter? Are you certain it will fit? Many thanks again..

Mark, if your vehicle unit is like the first picture as you say, then you will find it in FastLane under 1985 500SEL. They both use the same unit but your 500sl is not listed.

Deltacom, many thanks for your help. Best Foreign Parts sorted out the proper P/N and had a rebuilt unit I bought. Their source seemed to be sure it was the right one for the 83 500 SL. I should hav eit next week. Thanks for your help. -Mark
