Thumbs up Best MB Shop in Jacksonville, FL

I've lived in Jacksonville, Fl for 9 years and searched in vain for a really good MB shop, that is until yesterday when I finally hit the jackpot. Herndon's Automotive Co., Inc., is a family owned Bosch Authorized service center operated by John and his wife Kriss. They are honest, very friendly, competent, and it's immediately apparent they care about their customers.

I spent over an hour with John citing a engine miss problem with my '87 300D-T. Although he was unable to replicate the problem, he kept the car overnight, took it for a test drive, and even replaced a stripped bolt used to attach my oil pan cover and he refused payment! That in itself speaks volumes for a person and his business ethics.

Herndon's Automotive Co., Inc.
Owner: John
5105-503 Phillips Hwy
Jacksonville FL 32207
Phone: (904) 737-0001
Fax: (904) 737-2778

Any Good Mb Shops In Miami,fl???

Hello Board, Are thee any good MB shops in Miami,FL??

I have dealt with a lot of "MB shops" and boy do they know..JACK about mercedes. I am fed up because I have to be the ones telling them how to do things. I had to show a MB mechanic how to remove my air cleaner!!! I want a good shop that charges a fair price. My car just needs a good diagnostic printout, to see if I am A-OK!! I am tired of hearing that money stealing phrase "Its a Mercedes" that just means "I'm gonna charge you twice what I charge my other customers" . No, its a car, be fair and charge me a reasonable price!!

Help me before I go nuts!!

to Mike: Miami shops:

Mike:

I can recommend one from personal dealings:

Royal European Motors, on Dixie Hwy, in North Miami Beach (Just across tracks from Aventura). Run by Joey and his son Robbie (Israeli immigrants). They do a lot of expensive cars, but eat and breathe older Mercedes. They can crawl inside and outside of these cars-and know all the quirks. NO dealer mechanic has their down-to-earth knowledge. Prices very fair and reasonable. And you can drop in.

Don't have their number offhand, but just call directory assistance.

They know what they're doing - and they can FIX as well as replace things.

Highly recommend Whispell's in St. Petersburg. He does practically everything I can't do myself on my '69 230/8. Really knows all MBs up to 1990. Doesn't work on anything younger than that. It's just he, his son & wife. Call him at 727-821-6400.

good South Florida W124 service shops ?

Looking for a SoFL good service shop for my 300/320 CE Benz.
Palm Beach county (Boca Raton area) or north Broward county.

Ideally with:
- strong familiarity with W124 cars (Benz-certified)
- decent shop rate (ideally in $50-65/hr range)
- able to work with modified/aftermarket cars
- good English

I've used Mercedes Ft Lauderdale before, and whilst competent, would like to find something closer and more reasonable.

Thanks in advance -- Manuel

Good day gentlemen,
I'm looking for a shop in Miami, need to get the transmission fixed, it slips on first gear and it jumps sometimes when I hit reverse.

I have a '87 190E.

I figure I should throw this post in here rather than make a new one since it's in the Florida area.
