Does anyone know of a good independent in the Atlanta, GA area.
There is a place in Avondale, used to be classic cars (not the dealership).. does anyone know about this particular shop?
Thanks for your input..

The owners of this site own a shop in Sugar Hill called MB Autowerks.

There is a link on the home page.

Yes, I see that many folks have been pleased with their services.
I am trying to locate a place that is closer in. If I am unable to do so, I guess I will have to make that long trip. Thanks.

Also need Atlanta independent

I've used Classic Repairs in Avondale. They are capable and efficient, specialize in MBs past warranty back to antiques. The owner is smart and knows these cars. There are some positive posts on them if you search on the forums.

I was actually on here today because I have a slightly different issue: I've been using Classic Repairs and think they're great, but for me they do a bit of overkill on the detail work and it adds up. (i.e. standard oil change is $60 which is fine; my last preventive tuneup was $350 for less than two hours labor on a car with nothing ultimately wrong). My car was worked on for 10 years by one mechanic, then went to CR when I moved out of state. I've shown my former mechanic the last few bills because they seemed high for routine oil change/preventive maintenance. His assessment matched mine--they are provinding "Rolls Royce Service" on my Daewoo budget.

Anyway, they're terrific if you're going first-class, but I'm looking for someone who can keep my car running in good order without doing factory-standard procedure fixes for the least little thing. If I could take my car up to MB Autowerks I would--they're unbelieveably competent and reasonable, not to mention excellent hosts here. But I do need somewhere in town.

Any suggestions for a mechanic in Atlanta who will fix my car without screwing it up? I've heard good things about Wishen, but they're a little far north for me on Peachtree Industrial. Any ideas are appreciated.

Please consider the services I have to offer. You will find my shop is very skilled, clean, and I charge a fair price for the work I do. You get what you pay for.

I have to rave about Mat and his shop.

Mat knows his stuff, has gone the extra mile to resolve various issues with my car and is a honest businessman.

If you've got an older car - this is the place!
