Hi I have a summer home in Venice and am looking to buy a Mercedes to leave down there. Anyone know of a good local shop? I dont want to have to go to Mercedes of Sarasota. I herd of one in Venie like siler something motors but I dont remember the name correctly. Or even in Sarasota area would be good also

Do you mean Bugatti Veyron? It doesn't have a V12 it has a 16CYQuad Turbo. 1001bhp.

Just spotted this post.
It's not a Veyron....that came later.
But, that is beside the point

Jan has since moved back to Germany, and has sold the shop to Horst Rietschel.
Horst renamed the shop to Horst's Bavarian Auto, and ended up moving to a larger location, doubling in size. (He really did need more room). He is now located on Corporation Way, just off of the US 41 in Venice (just north of Center Rd.)
Tell him I sent you, and he shouldn't chase you away right away

Now I went to a place right near center road called Starr European. All Mercedes shop. This was about 2 years ago when I drove down the E320 and it needed an Oil change before going home and I didnt want to go to the dealer. I called my local shop up north and they sent me to a place called Star European. It was located in like an industrial area. Right near center road.

OMG! Its called European Starr Auto. Google it on maps and the address is 261 Warfield Ave, Venice, FL. Use street view and you can see my old 560SL in front along with many other Mercedes. Thats where I went 2 years ago for my oil change.

I drove by there just the other day, on my way to another shop. (Ronnie's Automotive, Venice Ave, almost underneath the bridge).
The place has been there for a long time. Always a few 126's outside, and a few 107's. Hardly ever see anything else there - must be good with those chassis, I suppose.

We'll have to have Tea and Crumpets someday (or a more manly beverage)

PS: If you see a guy in a platinum gray Jetta TDI, it's probably me (look for the blue I in the TDI.

I will be back down in Florida in the end of July untill Sept. Did you get your Jetta from Suncoast VW? Tea and Crumpets?

Ive never had that before. Underneath the bridge? Isnt that right near the SPLASH place.(I get a kick out that place).

Sure did get it from Suncoast - they have a nice selection of Audi's and Porsche's too. Just kidding about the Tea and Crumpets...I've never had them either...but there is a place, maybe two, where you can get them.
Yes, just a few blocks from the Splash place....head towards the Island bridge, and just miss it to the right. Very honest guy.

Thats why sometime Im hoping to pick up a Mercedes for down there. Now I have 2 shops to go too. They are all about 5min from me also. Im located in South Venice over by Bill Buck Chevy near Jackerands Blv. Venetia is the neighborhood that sits on the corner.

If you are willing to drive up to Sarasota, I suggest Calloway European Automotive. I've been taking me 190 to him since I got it, and now my 300TD is there being worked on. He is a little expensive, but he only uses factory OEM parts. Really REALLY experienced guy, been in business since 1975.

Im just tring to find good shops in the Venice/Sarasota area. I have used Euro Starr auto but when I talked to him back in 2006 he said he wanted to retire soon. So its always good to have a backup shop just incase.

visiting some older family on venice in some large retirement/assisted living combo complex or something!? lol

PS. Lokey Mercedes in Clearwater & Mercedes Benz of Tampa both have some GREAT W210 E320's right now...

if you go to Lokey, in new talk to Kelly, in used talk to Bob

MB of Tampa new or used go over to used office && talk to Joey C.

&& Joey & Kelly are dating.

haha. purchased cars from all 3 @ either dealer most recent was lokey...

both great places...
willing to work on anything for a sale... they just replaced my AC evap, brakes, window & sunroof switches, redid window tint all on a $10K sale... keep that in mind

Lucky you in a 300D no less
