Need Tampa Bay - Clearwater/St. Petersburg Shop

I have a 1985 380SL and and 1991 350SDL. I need to locate a good MB shop in my area. Can anyone here direct me?

Thank you.

wrb2,

I used to go to DJ when Ralph owned it and Tommy was the head wrench. Ralph left and it became a used car place and I wasn't treated the same. Have not been there for 3+ years. Have you been there recently and were happy? I need to find a good independent MB shop in Pinellas county, I live in Clearwater Beach.

Unfortunately, I could only tell you about bad shops. Just posting so I can monitor this thread.

Edit: you might try contacting Gus Singh. He sells used parts in Seminole. Maybe he knows of a good shop.

I use an excellent shop in downtown St. Pete called Whispell's. It's a family-owned business. Work only on RRs and MBs; seen a Volvo in there occasionally. Only problem is he is hard to schedule -- doesn't take appointments. One job at a time. But exercise patience -- you'll get him eventually.

I am relocating back to the Tampa area, in the summer, and will be needing a good MB tech as well. I have been fortunate here in Atlanta, and have used Donnie, from MB Autowerks for a few repairs. Nobody has a local shop they can recommend? I will put my ear out with some friends in the area.

Shop in St. Pete

You might look at European Performance..930 4th Ave N. 894-6124. Da man is Mickey. I am in my third childhood with my new/old toy an '87 560 SL. They had done much work on this little car and it seems to be good work. A bit expensive ( A BIT!!!). But good. A new rag-top, installed would be $1300.00. Sure I could do better..advise and direction if you please....Jambo17
