W123 300TD Mechanics in/near Charlotte NC

Hi all,

I am a new owner of a '83 300TD. I love her but haven't had time to work on her yet.

Are there any good trustworthy shops in or near Charlotte to take our cars too? I prefer non-dealer and non-large as I like to get to know the guys and remain dedicated to them.

I have the typical vacuum problem, I think, that she won't shut down when I turn the key off. I have not be able to find the leak or to determine if my pump is working fine or not.

Thank you all in advance!!

No I did not. I found a 300TD in Richmond VA and drove my 1978 300D there and did the old fashioned swap for a 1983 300TD.

The local one seems nice, had manual windows and seemed to have allot done to it.

For mine I am in at $1,000 and plan to have her just as nice for hopefully less than the cost of the local one was priced at. (If I recall it was $6,500 ish)

Mine has two open vacuum lines, where I have no idea where they go......

New to these cars, so everything has been a learning experience. My car has a host of little issues, that I'm trying to sort as I go. I've been driving it 2 hours daily though since bringing it home a little over a week ago...

If you're looking for some shade tree type assistance with resolving your issues i would be glad to help out either one of y'all. i'm in Mt. Holly.

VSTECH also is very knowledgeable and helpful.

If you're looking for an actually business to go to there is

Goose Creek Automotive | Mercedes Benz Sales and Service - Monroe, NC
ive not used them personally but i've heard good reviews

and there is

Home page | Gunter's Mercedes Sales & Service | Auto dealership in Rock Hill, South Carolina
known them for years. My dad bought a few vehicles from them and used them for service/repairs quite a bit. I'm more of a DYI guy than he was so i've not gone to them for much but i can vouch for there knowledge of MBZ cars

There used to be a Mercedes shop off E. Independence Blvd that always had a bunch of older stuff sitting out front. Can't think of the name. I think it was up towards Indian Head more.
