I posted this as a part of another message but didnt get a response.

When accelerating or Braking, The Gear selector knob is rocking. Once I am up to speed it is fine, but from a take off and coming to a stop it is rocking.

I have a feeling it is the tranny or engine mounts. I tried moving the drive shaft, but it is solid, with no play in it.

What do you all think this is?

Could be a few things....however...the first thing that you want to check is the bushings in the shifter itself. I just had mine replaced and now the shifter is steady as a rock...not only while under torque from the engine and trans...but while shifting...
Feels like brand new....not an expensive fix...just a pain in the butt to get to the bushings. I chose to have my mechanic do it rather than DIY.

Thanks for the info, I'm due to take it to my mechanic soon for a good fluid changing, so I'll have him look at it. I don't see it as being a major issue, but it feels strange for it to be rocking in my hand. I'm one of those people that likes to keep one hand on the shifter at all times, even though its not a manual... :)

I like to have power at my fingertips at all times if possible while driving.
