Quick Question - Computer Interchangability

I have a 1991 300e.

I was wondering if the 300E's between 90-92 all used the same CIS-E Computers, because mine has gone faulty and I have found a replacement from a 92.

Thanks In Advance

Are the part numbers the same?

It would probably work. I swap stuff between our '90 and '91 all the time.

Patrs number for your CIS-E control unit is 011 545 28 32 for California and 011 545 27 32 is for Canada & US Federal only

According to my Bosch catalog all years are different and CA models have unique part numbers. That doesn't mean another year won't work in your car, but it doesn't mean it will. In many cases the part number change may have just involved different calibrations.

Will PN: 011 545 00 32 work on my car?

EDIT: Seller says its CIS-E Control unit from a 92 300E

Until I can figure where you live on the planet, my answer is going to have to be maybe it will work.

Lol, I live in Fed US, Texas

Ok. That helps. Since the car is Federal you could use a Calif version, but A Calif. car can't use a Federal version. The car will run fine, but won't pass Calif smog, because the check engine light won't come on. I'll have to consult my books and parts michrofiche and see if I can come up with an answer.

Well I don't need to pass CARB smog, so I'll be allright. My current CIS-E Control unit Is faulty because it won't sends very little current to the EHA (throwing a CEL "current to EHA"), and I went to a MB junkyard to try out a diff one, and the CEL stayed off, and the car ran great. Only problem was the guy wanted 450 for it, but I found a better deal on this 92. If it will get rid of the CEL, and send the proper signal to the EHA, that's all I'm worried about.

Thanks for helping out

I just went out and looked at our '91 300E.

011 545 00 32 is the part number on ours. Looks like you're all set.

Hope that helps.
