Mystery Fuse #1 Blown solved.

Well now I know why my #1 fuse kept on blowing.

1. There was a trunk leak that filled the driver side of the trunk under the antenna.

2. There is a thick wiring harness that teminates in a female 20? pin serial connector with a red cap on it that was sitting in the water. The connector melted a 1/4 inch hole in that red cap.

I pulled back the sheathing at the connector to find a few wires that had melted and that is the cause of my short.

My question now is: What is this connector for and how do I replace it?

Help would be appreciated.

Mystery solved

That harness is for the stock CD changer. I don't need it. So, I peeled back the sheath far enough to clip the burnt wires, wrapped it up and placed it high enough to never be exposed to any moisture.

Case closed.

Case closed? What about the leak?

On the upper driver side of the trunk opening there is a fastener (allen?) that attaches the plastic trunk facia to the body. Water ran in through the hole. I plugged it until I can find the correct bolt.
