Check engine
I have had to keep resetting fault code #5 (EGR valve) every 500Kms or so and that's OK because I know what I have to do. Today though, I get a check engine light and when I try to get the LED's to flash I get nothing and the check engine light is still on.
Any ideas? I have a '95 E320. |

IF the EGR valve holds vacuum, many won't, then the MOST likely problem is a clogged EGR tube. WE repalce them EVERY day for that problem. Takes about 2.5-3 hrs & required parts list for $150.
Good luck!

Bad EGR?
I have had code 5 come up with regularity. Dealer says the EGR is working and cleared the code. He says if it comes up again he will replace the valve ($450 CDN.). I asked him if it could be the blocked tube, but he said no, that never happens. I said what's the point of replacing the part if it works?
The light is back on, now what? |
