HELP!! 94 e420 Won't crank!!
I went out to start my car and I noticed first off that the power locks didn't operate. The key only unlocked the door I was opening. The ignition key turns and all lights light but the starter doesn't even click. Battery voltage is good, head lights are bright. I don't hear the fuel pump. No other apparent problems. What could it be??? Does the lock system have anything to do with the start circuit?? If so which fuse feeds the locks?

from experience
It might just be your security system lock out. Had the same thing happen to me on the W140 in a parking lot when I had locked the doors with one door jammed via the seat belts. Instructions to me where to shut the door, lock and unlock a couple of times, then try to restart. It worked!

I think tower is right. Check to see if your security system light is still blinking when you get into the car. If so, it hasn't been completely disarmed. While I was working on the driver side door lock and had some connections unhooked, my E420 acted the same way. It took me a few times to notice that the security system light was still blinking.

Check fuse box for blown fuses. If number 5 is blown the starter is locked out.
