Angry Electronical problem on a 500E

We already have been to a few MB dealerships in Switzerland and other mechanics but nobody knows whats wrong with it! Even the dealership connected the computer to the Benz but they never found out what was wrong with it...

The problems on the 500 E are the following:

1. When you are a constant speed, lets say 60 mph the car does not stay at that speed, it all of the sudden for no reason accelerates at full throttle?!?

2. Also, sometime, when you try to accelerate and push the accelerator, the car does not... or yes but like 10s later?!?

Any help / suggestions would be really appreciated because untill now no mechanics have managed to figure out whats wrong with it...

Thanks for you help!

Sounds to me like your electronic throttle actuator or associated electronics is bad, which is a common problem on these cars.

I would have this tested by a dealer.

What were the codes that the dealer pulled from your car's computer? This would help in diagnosing the problem, very likely.

Where is Switzerland are you located? We have a couple of members over on 500ecstasy.com who are located there, and one or two in Northern Italy.

Regards,
Gerry

I'd check the engine harness for any shorts/insulation crumbling, and then test the electronic accelerator like Gerry suggests.

Good luck,

:-) neil
