One more thing, This joker shakes side to side like a dog when at idle. Shakes even worse after a freeway run! If I give it a little bit of throttle up to say 900rpm it smooths out. Is this motor mounts or some kind of damper bolt that can be tightened? How can I check? I need yall more than ever. My wife is p****d off I bought this 5th car as it is so I need to try and do more of the work myself. Please help me and thanks!

One chewed a**! Joe

I would first suspect the motor mounts..after all they are 15 years old..no spring chicken. They are less than $20 a piece. The rack dampener screw/bolt is also cheap, plus you may be able mess with it without having to buy a new one.

Larry, do you know where the dampner screw/bolt is located? I will try that tomorrow. Thanks! Joe

Search this forum for "rack damp" that should give you more than enough information to do the job.

On the back of the injection pump in front of the oil canister there is a bolt, It has a spring on it inside the pump. (you can access the bolt from outside the pump. but the spring is on the bolt but inside the injector pump) I dont know the name of it, but I had the worst rocking back and forth, and finally a shop replaced it and it idles smooth.

I know the simple things to check, but I always have problems the dealership knows nothing about, OKAY?
