e320 wagon middle row seat stuck, won't fold forward

My drivers side middle row rear seat is stuck and won't fold down. When I pull the lever to release it (to fold it forward), it feels as if the linkage may have broken or come loose inside the seat. There is a catch on the back inside side of the seat, and one at the back edge of the seat by the door. The catch at the back in the middle is releasing, but the one by the door will not.

Does anyone know if there is a common problem with these that there is a trick to get them to release, or do I need to take the seat apart to see what's wrong with it?

Does anyone know how to take the seat apart?

Thanks,
Pete

If I understand your question, when the door shuts there is pin that gets pushed in by the door, on our 89 TE is has a black 'button' cap. Pull this out a bit while pulling the seat back forward.
