How to remove sunroof shade on 96 C280?
 

I have a glass sunroof and a sliding shade.

The headliner on the shade has come off

How do I remove this shade out of the sunroof track so I can re carpet it?


It looks like it slides out somehow.

thing with sunroof is you need specialty tools - so not many people have experience with it

Not trying to remove the sunroof

Just the cheap carboard shade that you manually slide back and forth.

I know. sunroof panel gets pulled something like the following

headlining gets unclipped in front, sliding rail screws on left and right get removed, panel gets pulled through top

but installing needs special alignment technique and a special tool for preloading sunroof panel.

its the reinstalling that is tough

I'm not talking about the powered sunroof door
