My mechanic has given me a price of $400 to change the clutch on my 5spd 190e. He says it’s about 8 hours worth of work. The price is only for labor as I’m supplying the clutch set. Is this reasonable? Thanks.

Since you are supplying parts, he is wanting to charge extra labor to make up for loss of profit on parts. Factory book time is around 4.5hr.
