OK I recently rebult my engine and lately, I have been putting the last items together. My mechanic has helped me a lot with the project. Last week he realized that I better get new hidraulic lifters so I ordered them 4 (for 1st and 2nd cylinders) since he said the others were fine.
The car can be driven, but it rattles since the first cylinder and probably the fourth are not in correct working setup. Today, the mechanic asked me to remove the spark plug and BANG, the porcelaine spark plug was broken. Naturally, I assumed that the problem could be solved by simply going to autozone and get another spark plug. This happened pretty late so I couldn't bother him anymore because he had other work to do.
At home, I plugged in the new spark plug and started the engine. It starts, but the problem persists. I removed the spark plug and BANG, it is clean as it has never fired the fuel. I tested an extra spark plug wire that I have and no solution. I started the engine in different manners and nothing changes. One of the problems with this is that the mechanic is not always available when I need him. I suspect this must be something really simple. But I just don't know what happens. Any suggestions ????
