My 1982 300TD broke down in a small town in northern California(650 miles from my home) due to transmission failure. Local transmission repair shop there can install a rebuilt transmission. I want to buy the transmission from Sun Valley Hydraulics since they are close to me and ship it up north. The mechanic is okay w/ this. Questions - Has anyone dealt w/ Sun Valley Hydraulics and are they reputable? Do I need to supply any engine numbers to match the transmission, or is year and model type sufficient?

Unknown about the company, but basically find out if they specialize in MB trans, are they Dyno tested, are original parts use, are there any relined bands used, what is the warranty parts and labor, price, does it include the torque converter?
Those are the kind of questions you can ask the supplier. ------------------ Mercedes-Benz Master Guild - 2 years Shop Foreman - 20 + years - dealer. Part owner - MBZ Transmission remanufacture 2000 SL500 1999 ML430 1989 300SE |
