Unhappy W124 Blower Regulator Repair???

I replaced my blower motor brushes and I can make the motor spin now by grounding the blue wire, so it looks like the regulator is shot. The wiring diagram shows a "black box" with a big transistor. Could I be lucky enough that it's a big power transistor (that I might be able to replace) or is it a big potted mess that can't be fixed?? Anybody ever had one apart?

Into my 2nd week of having an "off road vehicle"

Hi there,

Did you get your blower regulator repaired? Mine just stopped working and I am searching to see if they are repairable.

Did you have any luck with yours?

Did you take it apart to see what's inside?

please let me know, take care,
Acky

Blower Regulator Repair

The internal regualtor parts are potted in place with epoxy, so even if it was possible to dissolve the epoxy and solder in a suitable replacement, it's just not worth the hassle. I got the generic replacement from this site and it's been working faithfully ever since (It was a @$#%& of a job to get to, though!!)
