Best place to buy coil spring compressor?

I'm looking for a coil spring compressor for the w202. Installing H&R springs.
Any advice as to where I can purchase or rent one would be apperciated. Also any tips on installation would help.

Thank you
Mike

Maxtool has a hydraulic spring compressor which seems to work quite well. Costs $139.99, Item#ME4098; phone is 800 MAXDEAL. I think the website is www.maxtool.com. Here's the direct link: http://www.maxtool.com/cgi-bin/dbsearch.exe?mdb=\tools.mdb,tbl=IC_ITEMS,template=/comp_master-4.htm,DBCOMP=ABS,ReturnMax=1,DB_ITEM=ME4098

Has anyone actually used that unit on a W124, W201 or W202? From the pictures, it doesn't look like it would clear the suspension parts.

Thank you BenzRepair for the info. I will give them a call and see if it will work.
Do you have first hand experience with this tool on the W202?

Mike

Actually, it doesn't work easily on the smaller cars; an incredible tool, however, for the price. There is a wedge-type coil compressor which will work for around $60 -- when I find it, I will post it

Yep, I've tried it...doesn't work. It's also large, awkward and hard to maneuver. Great idea though.

The clamshell-type coil prring compressor which will work is made by ATD, and is no longer available for under $100. Cheapest price I've found so far is $118.73 at http://toolrage.com/Store/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=721. There are other types available, but they are at least this expensive. The cheap type which clamp to the outside will work with great difficulty, but I will not use them anymore. The type of compressor which inserts through the middle of the spring under $100 will not work, as they are too big; there is a center mount compressor for sub-compact cars that might work for $60, located here http://www.toolsource.com/ost/product.asp?sourceid=overtureautotool&dept%5Fid=500&pf%5Fid=58512&mscssid=WQNFH4AGJHB09MRTXU1XHEARQ9 JNF5MF
