W124 - Vac leak only in gear?
 
my 300E appears to have a vac leak when in D ot R and idleing as the economy gauge goes to the middle 6 o clock.


but in park it goes to the left where it should be


I replaced a few vac lines and the ISC hoses,breather hoses,pcv hose

Idling while in Gear?

My economy gauge does the same -- moves to the left in park and neutral.
It is nornal; when in gear, there is an increased load on the engine, thus the increased fuel requirement.
