Question 300e water pump

My water pump failed today and I'm completely in the dark about replacement. My 86 300e has 180Kmi and I haven't done much work on it in the 7 months I've owned it. My biggest problem so far is that I can't find anything about the water pump in the repair manual CDs. Does anyone know if that information is on the CDs and where? Any suggestions about water pump replacement?

Paul

Jeff,

Thanks for the procedure numbers. The information is invaluable. There is no listing for these procedures in the index of my CDs. What's up with that? It seems that everything involving this car is more difficult than it needs to be. And I'm being nice.

Hi,

Dakota from this site did this great index. Makes it a breeze to find steps now.

You'll have to remove the belt, belt tensioner, and unsecure the power steering pump, among other things. I highly recommend getting the Snap-On 13mm swivel head extension to access the water pump bolts - while I still needed to strip down the front of the engine to change out my H2O pump, it made it much easier to access the bolts.
