89 300e brakes squeeking
my 89 300e rear brakes are about to drive me madd. I've been told the problem won't go away unless I use mercedes padds. Is there a cretian brand I should use or are the pads a dealer only item.
I've tried everything from sanding down the calapier to using anti squeek on the back of the pads. Nothing seems to work. Can anyone give advice on this matter. Thank You Shawn |

What brand are you using?
The only brands that stopped my squeeking were OEM pads or Axxis/PBR Deluxe pads which had the added benefit of no dust. EBC Greenstuff pads were the worst ever! Before you switch though I would check to see if you have metal shims on the back of the rear pads. These shims come standard and stuck to the back of OEM pads. Aftermarket pads sometimes never have them.If you want you can buy them from www.********.com for $5 for your rear pads. Wagner part #sh10015. If your aftermarket pads have them and still squeel then get rid of those pads. PBR pads are available in fastlane (see link at top of page). |
