My 1981 300td no longer blows hot air from the center vents. The fan is blowing like a maniac but the vent doesn't open. I had the control unit (pushbutton} replaced a few years ago. I'm not sure if it is malfunctioning again or it is some mechanical problem.

Hot air shouldn't come from center but from floor & or defroster vents. If you are getting no heat, do search on mono heat valve.
