I tried my Topsider for the first time yesterday. I believe I followed all the instructions. I couldn't get more than a cup out of 40 pumps. The stub on the can that the hose attaches to is loose such that I can hear air leaking unless I bear down on it. It also helped when I smeared grease around where the stub fits its flange. I presume this looseness is why it won't draw oil long enough to drain the sump in one go.
Could someone please confirm that the fitting isn't right or suggest what I might be doing wrong? Thanks, Sixto 78 450SEL 91 300SE |
If you hear air leaking, sounds like thats the culprit..... did you check the diy section for the tips on using the topsider?
Also, ya might want to use a hose clamp or something to help seal that leak down. Other than that I have no idea. I have never used a topsider. if I had one, I'd use it, but I personally like gettin a little greasy when working on my car. ------------------ '92 300CE Metallic Black (Blue Flaked) on Parchment Clear Corners 94-95 Tail-Lights Debadged Black Grille Insert 78.5k Miles Future Upgrades: Sportline Suspension 17" AMG Monoblocks or EVO II's Euro Headlights Performance Chip AMG Exhaust http://home.earthlink.net/~asherson/my92300ce.jpg Click here to Go To My 300CE Page |
