Removing Oil Pan

I'm taking off the oil pan, since it was leaking a little and I had to rebuild the top half of the engine anyway. So the bottom half (of the engine) is still in. So do I just remove all the bolts, and the stabalizer bar in the front and slide it out the front. I've already got so much apart, I'm trying to take the least amount of parts off possible. Also, what's the torque on the small fasteners and the big ones in the back? Thanks.

Uhh,.... I wonder if you might share with us exactly what year and model car you are working on. Is it safe that we assume that it is a Mercedes Benz?

You'll have to excuse us, our mind reading skills are a little weak here on the forum.

Have a great day,

Donnow, never tried this one.

I've heard you can remove the pan in the car, but before I did I would verify the leak -- the pan is sealed with a small bead of RTV material, there is no gasket, so I cannot believe it would leak unless damaged.

You may have to lift the engine to get it out, and it will be very well stuck on. DO NOT pry between engine block and pan to get it free, if you gouge the pan it will leak there.
