Intermitent stopping 1988 300TE HELP PLEASE !!
My car has a very intermitent stopping problem. It can be several months between stopping. When it happens we are driving and the car will just stop. All the dash lights will come on. It will usually start within the next minute or two. Then the problem will continue for several weeks. This usually happens within a mile or two from starting. I have had the following replaced: the rotar/distributor cap, fuel filter, both fuel pumps, crank sensor, fuel pump relay, sender unit, oxygen sensor, and the overload protection computer. My car runs well other than this. Any ideas?? Thanks....bjs

Does this happen while driving or just when coming to a stop?

Airflow Sensor Pot
I had a problem with my '88 260e stalling intermittently while idling or coasting to a stop. The problem turned out to be the airflow sensor pot on the front of the airflow meter. The variable resistor wears out especially in the idle range and causes stalling. Do a search on "airflow sensor pot" to get more information.

mostly on left turns
I have the same problem for about six months on a 91 300E, the engine would stop while stopping at traffic light and turning left. It would always re-start. This was more than five years ago. I did not do anything, and it fixed itself.
