I am back with one more question? Is there an additive that will clear up algae in the tank or is this a myth of some kind? Thanks! Joe

All diesel fuel has small amounts of water & algae grows in water so don't think that it is a myth. Many fuel system cleaners are avail from most truck stops & part stores.

I have had good luck with Redline's
diesel additive. It is readily
available. I have heard of another
brand called Biobor that is
specifically an algicide. But I
have never seen it in a parts store.
PartsShop who sponsors this board
probably carries a good selection.

I looked for Biobor and could not find it in a parts store, but finally found it at a marina.

Look out with that stuff. If you have a bunch of alge in your tank you will plug your filters repeatedly. I worked as a boat mechanic and customers that used that stuff had their filters plugged solid! And they had the large Racor filters.
Mark.
