Buying A C Class

Hello, I am moving to the UK and am looking into buying a c class benz. I have never owned a mercedes but they are much cheaper in the UK than North America where i currently live. I am wondering what the mechanical issues or frequently fixed things on this model are. Can someone help?

I read the www.telegraph.co.uk and the U.K. magazine CAR and I ask genuinely are you sure the C-class is cheaper there?
They do sell smaller engined versions of the C plus cloth seating and non-airconditioning versions are popular (well lately you find more A/C ) but optioned out C-class models are probably the most expensive car in their class on the island. Tires, fuel and oil are more expensive than the U.S. where the cost of living is usually cheapest in the industrialized west.
And there is a hugh uproar about the service provided by MB dealers in the U.K.

If your working for a company that provides a rep car things may be different ( did yoy know new cars are taxed also on CO2 emission? )

You can always buy a Perodua Kelisa for 5200 pounds

If your buying new from a car supermarket consider the lack of warranty and no aftersales. The extended warranties they offer are often useless. I've heard a few horror stories with people buying imports with the extended warranties only saving a few hundred pounds. When they start having problems the warrantiy company doesn't want to know and the importer couldn't care less :(

If buying used avoid the C180 and C200, especially in the early 202 guise before the Kompressers, they're too under powered. IMO the best 202 was the C250 diesel.
