I have a few questions regarding my transmission. Ever since I have gotten the car (about 4 years ago) it shifts much differently than the electronically controlled trannys that I have experienced. For example, when I turn a corner the transmission just refuses to shift down to 2nd gear no matter how much I push the gas (unless I hit the kickdown switch), or if I manually shift. The shift points seem alittle off also, most of the newer american and or japanese cars I have driven, when you start out and push the gas about 3/4 the way down, it shifts at a high rpm yet in the MB with the gas pushed almost all the way down it shifts anywhere from 2800-3200 rpm. I have changed the transmission fluid and it has the correct amount of fluid but it still does this. Everything else seems ok, its shifts nicely and doesnt slip or anything. Is this normal for these cars? Does anyone else experience these problems. Thanks

It needs to be adjusted. MB trannies have both shift timing and shift pressure adjustments on those trannies..

You need to adjust the control pressure cable so that it moves further when the throttle is depressed. I think 300Es have an adjustable cable housing.
