Hi,
Just a quick question: Can one simply compress a spring (using factory compressor)and remove it (when car is on lift) without needing to disassemble shock upper connection or wheel assembly on W124? Reason I ask is that I am contemplating installation of sportline springs in my 124 wagon. I believe that it should be straightforward compress-remove-compress- install process without needing to do much else other than remove the wheel. I would like to be sure before the dealer tells me that all sorts of things need to be done... Thanks in advance farrukh |
You should be able to do it this way. You will have to get the alignment adjusted after the change.

Donnie,
How long do you think it would take an experienced tech like yourself to jack up the car, yank out each spring and plug in the new ones (ball park)? By the way, I work with a guy, jon Clarke, who I believe you may know... :-) Thanks farrukh |
